Spinach Flatbread Recipe – Simple & Delicious

 

 

This homemade spinach flatbread is incredibly easy to make with just a few pantry ingredients. Soft, flavorful, and packed with fresh spinach, it’s the perfect side for soups, stews, or even as a wrap!

For the Dough:

 

✔️ 5 cups (560g) pastry flour

✔️ 1 teaspoon (7g) salt

✔️ 1.5 cups (350ml) warm water

✔️ 2/3 cup (60g) melted butter

✔️ 1/2 cup (100ml) oil

 

For the Filling (Optional but Recommended!):

 

✔️ 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped

✔️ 1 teaspoon garlic powder or minced garlic

✔️ 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

✔️ 1/2 teaspoon salt

 

 

 

👨‍🍳 Instructions:

 

Step 1: Prepare the Dough

 

1️⃣ In a large bowl, mix flour and salt.

2️⃣ Gradually add warm water, stirring with a spoon until the dough starts to form.

3️⃣ Knead for 5-7 minutes until the dough is soft and elastic. Cover and let it rest for 20 minutes.

 

Step 2: Prepare the Spinach Filling (Optional)

 

4️⃣ While the dough rests, chop the spinach and mix with garlic, salt, and black pepper in a bowl.

 

Step 3: Shape the Flatbreads

 

5️⃣ Divide the dough into 6-8 equal balls. Roll each ball into a thin round disc on a floured surface.

6️⃣ Brush each disc with melted butter and oil mixture for extra flakiness.

7️⃣ If using the spinach filling, spread a thin layer over half the disc, then fold it in half and seal the edges.

 

Step 4: Cook the Flatbreads

 

8️⃣ Heat a non-stick pan or griddle over medium heat.

9️⃣ Cook each flatbread for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and slightly crispy.
