•INGREDIENTS:
64 Pecan halves
11 oz. Baking/cooking caramels
1 Bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
Parchment paper or a silicone baking mat
•INSTRUCTIONS:
Prepare the Pecans: Place the pecan halves flat side down on a parchment or silicone baking mat lined baking sheet. Arrange them in groups of four in a cross or “x” shape, leaving space between each group.
Melt the Caramel: Unwrap the caramels and place them in a microwave-safe bowl. Add a tablespoon of water and microwave in 30-second intervals until the caramel is completely melted and smooth.
Assemble the Candies: Spoon the melted caramel over the center of each pecan group on the baking sheet. Use a generous amount for each candy.
Melt the Chocolate: In a separate microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips by microwaving them in 30-second intervals until smooth.
Top with Chocolate: Spoon the melted chocolate over the caramel on each candy.
Set the Candies: Place the baking sheet in the freezer and allow the turtle candies to set for at least half an hour before serving.
