•INGREDIENTS:
For the Dough:
3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup warm milk
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Filling:
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp cinnamon
1/2 cup finely chopped pecans (or walnuts)
1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
For the Glaze (optional):
1 cup powdered sugar
1-2 tbsp milk
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
•INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Prepare the Dough:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
Add warm milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until a dough forms.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours until it doubles in size.
2. Make the Filling:
In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar, cinnamon, and chopped pecans.
Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a large rectangle (about 1/4 inch thick).
Spread softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle the cinnamon-pecan mixture evenly.
3. Shape the Rolls:
Starting from one long edge, carefully roll the dough into a log. Slice into even rolls (about 1-2 inches thick).
Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, leaving a bit of space between them. Let them rise again for about 30-45 minutes.
4. Bake:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
5. Prepare the Glaze (Optional):
Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
