•INGREDIENTS:
1 sheet of puff pastry (store-bought or homemade)
1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tbsp ground cinnamon
1/4 cup melted butter
•INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Prepare the Puff Pastry:
Roll out your puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick.
Brush the surface with melted butter.
2. Mix Cinnamon Sugar:
In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.
3. Sprinkle and Score:
Generously sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the buttered pastry.
Use a knife or pizza cutter to score the pastry into squares (without cutting all the way through).
4. Cut the Squares:
Cut through the scored lines to create individual squares.
5. Layering (optional for extra flakiness):
If you want more layers, stack two squares on top of each other before baking.
6. Egg Wash:
Brush the tops of the squares with beaten egg to give them a golden shine during baking.
7. Bake:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Place the squares on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden and puffed up.
8. Cool and Serve:
Let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
