•INGREDIENTS:
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar, packed
2 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup maraschino cherries, chopped
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
•INSTRUCTIONS:
Preheat the Oven:
Set your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Cream the Butter and Sugars:
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Add Eggs and Vanilla:
Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is well incorporated.
Stir in the vanilla extract.
Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
Combine Mixtures:
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined to avoid overmixing.
Add Cherries and Chocolate Chips:
Fold in the chopped maraschino cherries and chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
Prepare to Bake:
Drop spoonfuls of the cookie dough onto lined baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Bake:
Place in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are just turning golden brown.
Cooling:
Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
